I led a project for social arts charity Peckham Platform as part of the national Creative Civic Change programme. This experimental funding stream looked to support community development through place-based creativity. The Peckham project focused on co-producing artwork with Black and brown communities in Peckham, specifically focusing on intergenerational knowledge sharing between Windrush Generation Caribbean elders and young people. T
he project responded to the gentrification and change being experienced in the area. Over a series of ten months, with support from a project assistant and freelancers, I organised 15+ collaborative sessions, including art workshops, a community festival on Peckham Square, and a symposium of urban change in Peckham.
As Project Manager, I developed sessions, managed the budget for the project (~100k), commissioned over a dozen locally based POC artists, held the relationship with the funder, and convened the project board.
